Joanna pacitti most talked about American Idol contestant for season 8

Joanna Pacitti who had a previous record deal, who even had a song on the movie Legally Blonde's soundtrack, is now an American Idol contestant.

Unfortunately some observers are not happy with her on the show because they see her as a professional singer who will not leave a chance to the amateur singers for whom American Idol is the only shot at stardom. American Idol only requires that a contestant does not have a current record deal and it is the case with Ms Pacitti. She's not currently signed anywhere and she is within the required age bracket for American Idol therefore she has as the right to be there as much as every other contestant who the judges found to be good enough for Hollywood.

She is surely talented and was certainly one of the best contestants we've seen auditioning in Louisville. You can watch the video of her audition below.


Though I am hoping that she hasn't amassed a bunch of bad habits from her long career in showbiz and that she can let the show mold her a little in a good way. After all, if she did not make it big in the music industry yet there has to be something wrong and I hope that her time on American Idol will help her identify what went wrong in her career and send her off to a new start even if she doesn't win. I'm doubtful that she will win because she might be too 'professional' to capture the hearts of America. But I'm not a prophet therefore I can't see into the future. If she turns out to be better than everybody else, she might as well win this.

No one can deny that she has the looks of a star and her voice is not bad as well so what's missing? We will probably get to see that as the weeks go by on American Idol. Considering her previous experience, she probably will make it through Hollywood.
